Peter Tessier: The better team is winning... There's no argument here because that's the most obvious fact of all- the better team is winning.

The only reason you could call the Blues a better team last night was because a goalie is part of the team. The rest of the Jets were better than the Blues last night, except we got lousy goaltending. All four goals were quite stoppable. The rest of the diatribe is not needed.

Markstrom + Tanev for Trouba is apparently going to go down if the Jets get bounced. Chevy is pissed with Helly.

All 4 goals against were terrible! Playing from behind creates a different game; they shouldn’t have had to keep playing from behind. Boys were solid yesterday.

Not trolling....How's Hayes playing for you guys?

First glance seems to show that he's still not too comfortable there just yet

The game winning goal was atrocious- a couple of the other ones went through him as well

Hardly a diatribe- the Jets were better when Score Effects came in.

JN- your faith in the team and desire for success is truly admirable but it's not based on reality or evidence, it's hope. We all hope for good thing to happen, but hope is never a plan. The Jets need a plan for defeating the Blues and their plan is like yours, hope they play better.

That's not going to work.

If Hellebucyk had shown up last night the Jets win 3-1. The only hope that was needed was better goaltending so my hope is that the Jets keep playing as well as they did last night but that Helle plays to his capabilities.

Jets win that game if Helle stops the puck. .875 is simply not good enough and the winning goal was just plain deflating.

I agree that the rest of your blog Pete is just a repeat of your never ending mantra of how the coach was outcoached. Sorry, but they lost the game by soft goaltending. That one is on Helle.

Your blog title should be "The better goalie is winning"

Ehlers is a joke. Skates 100mph and does nothing. 17 playoff games zero goals, won’t get hit, won’t go to dirty areas. SOFT

Hayes needs to play. I liked when he had Ehlers and Connor on the wings, he even spoke of developing chemistry.

Hellybuck has been 15th or 16th best goalie in the playoffs. You never win win that.

Should they have offered the prospect (probably Roslovic) it would have taken to get Mark Stone at the trade deadline?

I don't think it's a roster thing - there's something wrong with the chemistry or just the way they team is playing - jets fans would know exactly

Was cheering for them hard last night

You need Lemiuex in the line up. His sand paper style is loved here in NY. Thanks!

Just messing with ya.

Get Hayes more than 8 min. of playing time. WTF is he doing getting 2nd least amount of ice time!? Should be getting much more.

It's Paul Maurice, he's reinventing the game every opportunity he gets. Man should be coach of the year!

There was no one booing the Jets off the ice. Any fan can see that they gave it maximum effort both nights..except Hellebucyk in game two. One can't say the same for heavy favorites like Tampa Bay who looked completely lost as a team. They forgot their systems, looked lazy and disorganized. and were completely outplayed in every facet of the game. Even hockey's supposed Einstein looked pretty dumb in taking that cheap shot to Nutivarra.

Meanwhile, other favorites like Boston, Calgary, and Nashville are all tied at one ( Nashville needing an overtime goal to get there. Where are Crosby and the Pens ? Are thier fans suddenly screaming to change their systems , regular lines, or coach ?

My point here is that there is a lot of parity in the NHL these days.....and its the playoffs where any team can get hot. Even the one team that dominated the League, TB, looks very ordinary. St. Louis was favored to win our division at the beginning of the year. Poor goaltending and some key injuries had them in dead last for a while but now that they are healthy and have stellar goaltending, they became the Blues that most predicted at the beginning of the year to be one of the leagues best teams.

I'd be a critic if the Jets weren't giving their best effort out there every night like TB is not. I won't criticize them when they lose by one goal in tight well-fought games and just one player cost them in game two.

There are a few kinks for sure. One could argue that Morrissey is not the same player he was before his injury. He can play much better. Hayes ...I'm not sure if he has an injury or what , but there must be an explanation for 8 min. Would Tanev had made a difference in game one ?

If the Jets lose then they will lose to a better team who has better goaltending. However, I know that they will be there in every game having given it their very best maximum effort. .As a coach the last thing you want to do is start changing everything
in the middle of the playoffs when you have still be playing well as a team.
